Case Management
Harford Family House Inc. does not only fulfill the basic human need for shelter. It helps homeless families help themselves. Through comprehensive case management services, families are challenged and encouraged to work toward self-sufficiency and stable housing. Responsibility and accountability are emphasized. All participating families sign an admission agreement and are mandated by a Three Strike Rule Policy. Individualized goals are set and the budgeting process is initiated. Education in life skills, job readiness and personal growth is mandatory. Families are linked to existing resources in the community as their needs dictate. The goal: changing lives for the better and strengthening our community.
Apartment Sponsors
Each apartment/house is supported by a local church, individual or civic group. These sponsors provide a personal connection between the families and the community and an extra layer of support to these vulnerable families. The sponsors help to prepare the apartment/house to receive the family. They provide assistance during the holiday times and are encouraged to keep in regular contact with their family.
Supply Closet
Through the generous donations of supporters and the community, a supply closet is maintained and can be accessed by the families on a weekly basis. Paper goods, cleaning supplies, toiletries and diapers are available to help supplement what the families cannot purchase with food stamps.
